The big one year appt!

On Tuesday we had the one year appointment. She got several shots. One of them was supposed to be the MMR shot (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella). We decided to space that shot out into 3 small shots instead of 1 large shot. There is a lot of controversy surrounding the mega shot. Although I'm sure it's ok, I just decided to play it better safe than sorry. So she got measles, Hep B, and Chicken pox. We will go back in 4 weeks for Mumps, then 4 weeks later for Rubella.
She went down a bit in percentile for weight. Doctor said it was no biggie. They expect to see a drop at either the 12 month or 15 month checkup. Babies at this age are so active that they are burning a lot of calories. Yes, that's true...Annabelle is very active and is into everything. She is starting to climb things now. Not good...I was in the kitchen and heard a thump. She had climbed the entry way piece and had Paul's sunglasses in her hand. She had taken a small tumble and that was what I had heard. Ay yay yay...another thing to watch out for now.

Yesterday, we had party #3. We had a joint birthday playgroup with another May baby. It was a Pony Girl theme including cowboy hats. Pictures are below.

Today we went to Gymboree. We are in the 9:30am class, which is right in the middle of Annabelle's naptime. She is so out of it during class because of being tired. So, I decided to change her to the Wed at noon class. I hope that does better for her.

Tomorrow is swimming!

Happy Memorial Day

When I was little, my parents would take us to put flowers on the graves of relatives. I always liked that tradition. So, we decided to start that tradition within our family. Today we went to Arlington Cemetery and put flowers on Paul's grandfather's grave. Here are some pictures.

Weekend Fun

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!
On Thursday we had we had Gymboree then later headed over to Stephanie and her Annabelle's place for a walk. They have a fun swing in the front and Annabelle had a blast! Below are some pictures.

Friday was my birthday. I took Annabelle to swim lessons. Later that night, Paul and I celebrated nice and quietly with some fondue. We love having fondue for dinner...it is a rare treat. I got some lovely gifts from friends and family and even some flowers!

Saturday we took a nice looong walk to old town and had breakfast. Later we went out for sushi with some friends. Today we are hanging out and will be having dinner with Scott and Kathleen. Kathleen took me out to lunch on Wednesday for my birthday.

Here are some pictures from the last few days.

Updates with Annabelle

She is starting to consistently wave and is starting to point at what she wants. Some of her buddies were doing this earlier..but she crawled and walked earlier. I guess she decided to work on her gross motor skills then her fine motor skills. Nonetheless, she is progressing well. We are very excited to watch her progress.

She is starting to get more verbal. If the office door is closed and we walk towards it, she'll start screaming "dada dada" because she knows where Paul is. She also calls for me now...well, I think she does. I love it!!!! She is the smartest baby in the world..yes, I know we are biased but we are allowed...we are her parents. hehehe...

I apologize for being bad on posts. I keep busy with Annabelle with lots of activities. I think it's very good for her to get socialized. I also believe the gymboree and swimming is really helping her develop faster than normal.

I promise to get better...maybe once every other day...check back often!

Happy Birthday Annabelle!!!!

Can you believe it??? Our girl is 1 year old...where in the world did the year go? It was a very busy birthday weekend. Auntie Mary flew in on Thursday evening. On Friday morning we went to Annabelle's swim class. This is her second swim class and she is loving it. She knows how to kick and attempts to blow bubbles. We came home and put her to bed then Mary and I headed to Costco for the party supplies. Later that evening Grandpa and Susie flew in from Tampa. We all went to Los Tios for some tasty mexican food. The next day was busy busy busy....we spent all mornign prepping for the party...the boys got the yard ready, Mary prepped the burgers, and Susie made the pea salad. It was a very busy morning. The guests started arriving at 1pm...just in time for Annabelle to wake up from her nap! She woke up refreshed and got dressed in her party dress. It was a wonderful party with lots of guests and great food. Annabelle LOVED her cake. It took her a few minutes to figur it out but she finally devoured it....and the ice cream too! After the guests left we opened presents...she got many sweet gifts. Everyone spoiled her!

I will mention that did do a bit of teething over the weekend and got her 5th tooth in time for her birthday!

Here are some pictures from the party.

Happy Mother's Day!

On Friday we went to Megan's house for her and Allie's first birthday playgroup.
We had a lovely weekend! My first mother's day was very nice! I slept in until 9am (yes, I consider that VERY late these days). Paul made a wonderful pancake breakfast. Later that day, Goody and Poppy came over and we headed over to a restaurant for a tasty steak dinner. We then came home and had desert. It was a nice day.

Paul also managed to finish up with the yard and I even planted some flowers. The yard is finally ready for a party!

Fun Week

This week has been full of activities. On Tuesday we headed over to John's house for some playtime. Thursday we had Gymboree and today we had Alli and Megan's birthday playgroup. Below are some pictures.

Annabelle is such a good little walker. She can finally wear some of her dresses. It was hard for her to crawl in dresses but it's easy to walk in them. Also, she was definitely teething. She is proud new owner of 2 new teeth on top. Ahhh...the better to eat with!

Thursday was our 4th anniversary. We went out to a nice dinner while Goody babysat.

She is certainly developing a little personality. She is starting to get mad when you take away something she wants. She can easily let you know what she wants with some cute little gestures. She is also adept at kissing and playing peek a boo. These are all important things called "gesture games" or "interactive play"...whatever you want to call them. They are important developmental milestones. We are also starting to incorporate some whole milk into her diet. At one year they are supposed to switch over. She also knows how to kick a ball. That usually doesn't happen until 24 months so is doing that really early. I credit Gymboree...we kick balls in there all the time.

Fussy Annabelle

We think she is teething again. It was a rough 2 nights the last couple of nights...fever, grabbing her teeth, etc. This time though, she doesn't seem herself...seems a bit out of it. So, I'm going to take her to the doctor tomorrow to see if it's something else.

Today is beautiful! We are going to take a nice walk. I'm hoping the sunshine will do her some good.

We spent the weekend working in the yard. Paul is busting his butt! It's starting to look nice again. We had to kill off the grass, I mean weeds, and plant some grass seed. So far, so good! We'll see though.

Darn Computers!

Well, sorry for the lack of posts recently. Here's what's been going on with us.

On Thursday the 26th Paul and I traveled to Nashville. We traveled there for my half marathon. So, on Thursday we headed to Nashville! We arrived in Music City and proceeded to the hotel then to the expo to pick up my race packet. That night we went to dinner with Kathleena and her friend Sarah who were also there for the race. On Friday we slept in...what fun that was! We decided to go to the Country Music Hall of Fame. That was fun. We saw Elvis Presley's gold cadillac and gold piano, amongst other things. That afternoon we headed to Team in Training's Pasta Party. Afterwards we headed back to the hotel so that could get some sleep before my 4am wake up call!

On Saturday, I got up and met up with my TNT compadres! After some breakfast we headed out on the buses to the start line. The race went well. There were a lot of hills which I'm not used to and didn't train on. It caused some achilles tendon pain. After the race we headed back to the hotel and took a LONG nap. That night we went to see a show at the Grand Ole Opry. We saw some old country legends and a few modern day ones too. Sunday we headed back home.

Goody and Poppy watched Annabelle while we were gone. It was nice to get away but we sure did miss her! From what we were told, the weekend went great for them and they had a good time with our girl.

Speaking of our girl, she is doing great. She is getting such a little personality! She is a very busy little lady and is constantly into stuff. Now that she is really walking it's a whole new ball game. Man! I'm constantly chasing her around. Today we went to our first story time at a local library. It was fun...though I doubt Annabelle truly understood what was going on.

So, anyway, my computer charger died on Monday. Sorry for the lack of posts! I promise to be better!

I will post some pictures later today.
